Our home ground undergoes refurbishment in time for the 2012 Olympics!

Ladywell Arena is currently undergoing refurbishments as the running track is being completely re-laid. The purpose of such works has been commissioned by the Olympics 2012 committee to utillise the Arena as a training ground for  the countries participating in the fantastic world of sport event…2012 Olympics. It does have an impact on our home football fixtures for September up until mid October -when the work is due for completion -fortunately the Kent County Football league fixture secretary has been able to arrange our September fixtures at away venues, our first game on the 11th September 2010 being away to Metrogas in the  ’Inter- regional Challenge Cup’. A little inconvenient for us but looking ahead the works will be beneficial to us and other users of the Arena in the future, so it gets our support totally. News of  fixtures and venues will be updated in due course.

Kent League/Kent County League – Step 6

Step 6 league in Kent for 2011/12 season

Currently the Kent League is at Step 5 and the Kent County Premier Division is at Step 7.

A new league at step 6 in Kent will be formed in time for the 2010/11 season.
The news follows a meeting which was held at the KCFA last Thursday between the Kent League and the Kent County League.
The meeting was intended to discuss the next steps in the development of step 6 following the successful clubs meeting in May.
The discussions between the two leagues were detailed and comprehensive, with both leagues wanting to develop and administer the new step.
Following a suggestion from the Football Association, it was agreed that each league would present their case to the FA Leagues committee as to who should be responsible for administering the new league.
“It’s another positive step,” said Kent League chairman Denise Richmond. “There will be a new step 6 league in Kent formed for the start of next season and that can only be of benefit for football in the county and surrounding area.”

The new step 6 league in Kent is on course to start next season after two meetings of the steering group.
Set up by the Football Association, and including representatives from both the Safety Net Kent League and Vandanel Kent County League, the group has been charged with forming a step 6 league by the start of next season.
“This is excellent progress for Step 6,” said Safety Net Kent League chairman Denise Richmond.
“The Kent League are looking forward to working with all interested clubs and the Kent County League for the future of senior football in this part of the country.”
One of the key early decisions has been agreeing the ground grading for entry into the new step 6 league. This is a revised version of grade G and clubs will be given four years to improve their grounds to meet the full grade G which is required nationally.
The next step is for the proposals to be put to the FA Leagues committee at the next meeting at the end of September. If the proposals get the go-ahead then clubs in Kent, including those outside of the Kent County League, will be invited to register their interest in joining.
The steering committee is due to meet again at the start of October.
